WHY ?

It's twofold: Digital advertising has taken over in a way that’s pushing out authentic word-of -mouth marketing. First, we want to help our clients cut through the oversaturated digital noise, while adding something special to their marketing mix to engage the people and neighborhoods that are often hardest to reach. Second, we want to help New Yorkers get off their digital devices and discover what’s happening around them. It’s that simple!

OUR STORY

It was the winter of 2011. I was sitting behind a desk as the Marketing Director at a NYC performing arts center, doing everything “right.” We had the messaging, the print collateral, the digital ads, the campaigns… the whole machine. And still, I couldn’t sell out the house. I remember staring at stacks of flyers and thinking, “If I could just get these into people’s hands and actually tell them to come…” That was the moment it clicked for me: the problem wasn’t the performance; it was access. People can’t show up for what they don’t know exists. That’s when I realized I had a solution not just for theaters, but for every community-based organization, storefront business, city agency, and nonprofit trying to reach New Yorkers in real neighborhoods.

I started Viney Street because too many organizations were being priced out of visibility. Big marketing firms were charging huge fees, and most local groups simply couldn’t compete. I wanted to build something affordable, effective, and rooted in community.

Fifteen years later, I’m proud to say Viney Street is still here, making sure the institutions that have New Yorkers’ back also have our attention and support.
